Annual Events

Geeks Along the River

Geeks Along the River is back! Join us on November 18th 2017 at the Origin Bank RiverMarket. It is the same event that you fell in love with last year, only bigger and better!

The introduction of the annual event, Geeks Along the River, brought the community down to the Ouachita River in hoards to enjoy geeky vendors, live music, cosplay contests, and more!

Cosplayers young and old, dog and human, were invited to strut their stuff for a chance to win great prizes. Geek vendors from all across the tristate region set up and sold their wares, everything from art to vintage merchandise!

This isn’t an event for just one type of geek… no, all are invited and made welcome with something catered to them. Whether you’re a gamer or a fan girl, loyal to DC or to Marvel, Geeks Along the River is the place you want to be!  And, for those of you with no geek in your blood but just a curiosity, beware… you’ll leave this event a full blown geek.

LA Food & Music Festival

The Louisiana Food & Music Festival is presented by KTVE NBC 10 & KARD Fox 14. Join us on October 21st to highlight the rich culture and talent in the area, as well as Louisiana at large.  Music and food that gives tribute to Louisiana is highlighted along with the many talented musicians, artisans, and chefs who keep the area vibrant!  The festival features multiple stages spread throughout Downtown Monroe to give a multitude of musicians an opportunity to perform. And, as with every other RiverMarket, vendors are out selling a variety of products, services, and art.

In 2016, 17 artists spread across two stages in the heart of Downtown Monroe to cater to a diverse crowd. The Arby’s Stage featured rock music, including headliner All But Brave, a Monroe favorite and 2016 winner of ULM’s Battle of the Bands. Over at the Downtown RiverWalk, shoppers enjoyed music from the Matt’s Music Stage, which came to a close after sunset with headliners Garden District Grand Revival and the Louisiana Soul Revival featuring Louisiana Hall of Famer, Doug Duffey.

The Louisiana Food & Music Festival is an annual destination to fill up your belly with the plentiful and diverse cuisine of our great state, and a chance to find your new local band!

Ritas on the River

The breeze of the Ouachita River blowing through your hair… a margarita in one hand, nachos in another, and your favorite local band in your ear… That’s what ‘Ritas on the River is.

The second annual ‘Ritas on the river is on May 20th.  Your ticket gains you access to margarita samples from all of the best local restaurants and bars!  The bartenders are competing to win the title of Best Margarita, so you know they’ll only be serving you their best.  In 2016, Avocado’s took home that title, and the Warehouse No. 1 Restaurant was dubbed People’s Choice.

At ‘Ritas on the River, you’re able to enjoy shopping with all of our great vendors, a variety of food vendors, and live music!
